Roles of Sporting Activities in Promoting Global Peace, Quality Health and Entrepreneurship: Revisiting Ben Pulle’s New Year Message.

By Benjamin Pulle Niriwa, 09.06.2023

Details of the above project can be found in the part one (1) and part two (2) of it. The part 1 is: “ASSESSING HOW FOOTBALL MATCHES LESSONS CAN HELP PROMOTE QUALITY HEALTH, GLOBAL PEACE AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP: A ONE HEALTH APPROACH”. Below is it’s abstract. This part would be published in or by the end of this month.

ABSTRACT

Background: Sporting activities offer myriads of opportunities for people to learn how societal issues affect everyone, especially humans’ health. Unlike in the olden days where most diseases were caused by infectious agents; in the 21st century’s world both “communicable” and “non-communicable” diseases are competing. Even with infectious diseases there are mostly some non-communicable triggers of how the pathogen would spread; like seen in “COVID-19” and other outbreaks.

COVID-19 experience has reaffirmed that: “Your health is your wealth”. Health leads to wealth: wealth also leads to improved quality of life that promotes quality health, peace and entrepreneurship. At the peak of COVID-19 pandemic all economic activities, globally, came to a halt; due to the lockdowns! These clearly reaffirmed that poor health negatively affects peace and entrepreneurship, though entrepreneurship also leads to wealth and health or vice versa.

During the COVID-19 lockdown most nations reported increased societal problems. Poor health, especially psychological problems led to suicidal thoughts in some people. But, research findings revealed that wealthy people live longer than poor ones. This revelation is a measure of the effect of wealth on health and peace because if one lives longer in life it is because he/she has a peaceful mind. Applying the health conscious behaviors of football players, people will learn to prioritize health in their New Year Resolutions.

Though football has been the heartbeat of many football lovers globally, there is little information linking football matches to human behavior. Lessons learnt from football which is a global game loved by many can promote global peace, health and entrepreneurship. Unfortunately, there is virtually no scientific research linking the lessons from football matches to the promotion of global peace, health and entrepreneurship.

Main Aim: To assess how the application of lessons learnt from the fair play of football matches can help promote quality health, global peace and entrepreneurship.

Methodology Used: This manuscript is written using many study designs; reviews, experiences and lessons learnt in life, especially from football matches.

Results Obtained: The findings indicated that lessons learnt from sporting activities like football matches can help promote global peace, quality health, and entrepreneurship. Honor crimes or honor murders are old cancers that affect all genders but not only females. Football matches promote peace and unity that can help reduce crimes for achieving the SDGs. Football players are always health conscious! Applying the health consciousness of footballers, would help most people to always prioritize their health in their New Year’s Resolutions to help reduce hate crimes.

Conclusion: Football is a business that makes most footballers rich, the lesson from this is that people should also see their professions and jobs as their businesses to make wealth for health.

Figure 1 is showing how the review process of this very important project was done.

Figure 1: Flow Chat of the Review Process

Figure 2 is showing the causes of honor crimes in the 21st world which when one applies the fair play game of football can be turned into teamwork devoid or hatred and dirty competitions. Achieving the sustainable development goals is teamwork like attending a health facilities that is a made up of different professionals synergizing to make sure patients are treated and cured or managed.

These crimes are obstacles to the achievement of the world’s common good (the sustainable development goals, SDGs). One who reads the part one and two of this project would better understand how sporting activities like football matches can help promote global peace, quality health and entrepreneurship.

The objectives that were used for the part one of this project are:

Main aim: To assess how microbiology and sports, like football, lessons can help promote global peace, quality health and entrepreneurship.

Specific Objectives

 These are, to:

1. Determine the linkage between sports-associated infections and global peace, quality health, and entrepreneurship – the case of football matches.

2.  Identify how COVID-19 and football lessons can help reduce rising global hate crimes for global common good (achievement of the SDGs).

3.   Assess available literature that honor crimes or honor murders as old cancers that affect all genders but not only females.

How the general public response to health preventive measures during a pandemic would always improve than before if they take prioritization of their health seriously. By July-August or September, 2023, the research findings on “Prevention of 21st Century Emerging Pandemics, Covid-19; Using Face Masks” will show whether people were willingly complying with COVID-19 prevention protocols or not. If they were complying or not, the issue of trust cannot be ruled out, but hate crimes can create mistrust amongst people. The next research by three of the authors: “Assessing Whether Covid-19 Pandemic Has Brought Confidence or Trust in Health Care Delivery in Ghana, Or Globally” [383] will reveal whether trust issues were why people were complying or not.
